Karen Botha

Karen Botha LLB.LLM.BA (HSS cum laude) is a TEDx speaker, author, and multi-award-winning attorney and mediator dedicated to resolving disputes with dignity and respect. With over thirteen years of experience in family law and mediation, Karen has become a recognised voice in advancing dignified approaches to conflict resolution in South Africa.

She is the co-founder and director of Dignified Dispute Resolution™ (Pty) Ltd, a company that provides mediation services and corporate training in conflict, trauma, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through DDR’s bespoke programs — including the DDR Evolution Program™ and the DDR Legacy Suite™ — Karen helps individuals and organisations transform the way they engage with conflict.

Before relocating to the Western Cape in 2021, Karen founded the Family Law Forum of KwaZulu-Natal and served as its Chair, promoting collaboration and excellence among family law professionals. Her work has been recognised through multiple professional awards, and she continues to lecture, write, and speak on mediation, leadership, and the human dimensions of conflict.
